In The Heights “96,000”

This scene was filmed over the course of several frigid hours. As the film crew chased the fleeting daylight, we balanced lighting and shadows, replacing the entire sky, with some shots becoming full nigt for day transformations. Additionally, VFX came into play to composite intricate rings of inner tubes and people dancing in the pool, adding a layer of choreography and visual richness to the scene.

In The Heights “Piraqua”

While Lin-Manuel Miranda strolled the streets selling his flavored ice, the VFX team worked their magic, transforming the scene with sunny blue skies and lush leaves on the trees behind him. After all, nobody wants to buy refreshing treats on cold days, and the visual enhancements helped create the perfect backdrop for the scene.

In The Heights “When You’re Home”

For the "When You're Home" sequence, the picturesque view of Hood Wright Park was enhanced through visual effects matte painting, sky replacements, and set extensions. The integration of these visual elements added a layer of beauty to the scene and increased the overall cinematic experience.

In The Heights "Paciencia Y Fe"

VFX was used throughout this scene filmed in a stationary train at the MTA museum. The process involved compositing train shots for both the modern day and the 1950s, seamlessly blending them together. Additionally, rain simulations were added to the windows, light rigs were removed, and the tunnel of people was extended, contributing to the scene's authenticity and visual impact.
