KIA "Techmo Bo" and “Techmo Bros”

I was the Compositing Supervisor on these nostalgic KIA advertisements, meticulously crafted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Tecmo Bowl video game. The creative process kicked off by immersing ourselves in the retro gaming experience, recording our own gameplay to capture the essence of this classic.

Every detail of the vintage game's unique characteristics was scrutinized, serving as the foundation for our production. The game world underwent a digital rebirth in 3D, staying true to its original charm while rendering with a classic touch. Upon entering the game, we delved into the uncharted territory of dimensionalizing the side-scrolling graphics, breathing new life to pixels of the past.

The magic truly unfolded when live-action players and a sleek KIA car seamlessly blended into this pixelated universe. Through meticulous compositing, we ensured that every movement and detail mirrored the digital realm that surrounded them, creating an immersive and visually striking homage to the 1989 gaming classic that has stood the test of time.
