The Proposal

As the lead compositor for the visual effects in "The Proposal," my primary responsibility was creating the believable Alaskan backdrop essential to the film's setting. We used matte paintings, sky replacements, and green screens extensively to film scenes in Massachusetts while compositing Alaskan landscapes into the background. This required meticulous work to ensure the lighting, color grading, and perspective matched seamlessly, giving the audience the illusion that the characters were actually in Alaska. The goal was to create a visually cohesive and believable setting that supported the film’s narrative and comedic elements. The success of these visual effects can be measured by how unaware the audience is of their presence.
